MARE’s Deep Sea Engineering Challenge offers a hands-on, applied STEM learning experience to engineering students grades 9 – College to solve a real-life scientific problem. Students will be introduced to factors of ocean health and how it is being used to solve our worlds ocean’s problems.

ABOUT THE CHALLANGE
Our challenge offers many opportunities, including:
- A hands-on, applied learning experience to local high school aged students using technology to solve a scientific question;
- Exposing students to elements of ocean health and possible technology solutions for ocean science and conservation;
- Encouraging pursuit of STEM education and related post-collegiate career through exposure to and awareness of marine technology, and how it is being used to solve our worlds ocean’s problems;
- Solving some of our own engineering challenges with new perspectives and approaches.
