Marine Applied Research and Exploration (MARE)’s mission is to explore and document deepwater ocean ecosystems in support of marine conservation and management. Recognizing accurate data is needed for effective conservation and resource management, MARE was founded in 2003 to fill the data gap on deep subtidal habitats. With unique subsea robotic submarines and data processing methods, we explore and document deep-water ecosystems. MARE then collaborates with state and federal agencies, academic institutions, and other non-governmental organizations to support marine resource management.
