SPRING WARTY SEA SUSUMBER SURVEY

MARE, in partnership with California Department of Fish and Wildlife, recently completed an expedition around Anacapa Island in the northern Channel Islands. This survey was conducted in an effort to understand the migratory patterns of warty sea cucumbers and the role deeper waters may play  in supporting their populations – and by extension efforts to protect them. Our ROV Beagle made 5 dives in 2 study areas. *This survey was made possible with funding from the Resources Legacy Fund Foundation.
